Always use a thermal protector before straightening or curling your hair with a heated styling tool and never exceed 320ºF. The use of a good Argan oil (e.g. Moroccan oil) can significantly improve the softness and quality of the hair. Apply to damp or dry hair.
To untangle your hair, use a special loop brush made for extensions or a boar-bristle brush. Gently untangle any knots, starting at the tip and working your way up, and never tug on the extensions. Use of a detangling product is highly recommended. Never use a fine-toothed comb, since it can damage the cuticle of your hair extensions.
Before washing your hair, brush it to remove any knots and backcombing. Use lukewarm water and a gentle shampoo free of paraben and sulfates. Never rub hair together when washing it. Let the water flow over the hair and lather with the shampoo, always in the direction of the cuticle scales, in other words from top to bottom. Rinse thoroughly to remove all traces of soap from the scalp.
To keep your extensions soft and beautiful, use a good moisturizing or smoothing conditioner. This helps to seal the hair cuticles to protect it and make untangling easier. The use of a hair mask (or treatment) once a week is also highly recommended. Never apply conditioner or treatment product to your scalp. Always start at mid-length and move down to the ends.
To dry your hair, remove excess water and pat dry with a towel. Never rub your hair. Ideally, let your hair air dry. If using a blow dryer, select the lowest setting. Do not brush hair when it is wet.
To style your hair, use a boar-bristle brush or your fingertips. Styling products can be used. Hair colouring and perms should only be done by professionals. NEVER BLEACH YOUR EXTENSIONS!
Never go to bed with wet hair. Put your hair up in a braid or ponytail before going to bed. This will prevent knots from forming at the scalp.
You will need to visit your technician every 2 to 3 months to have your extensions tightened (depending on the growth rate of your hair). Do not try to remove the extensions yourself, as this always leads to unnecessary hair loss.
Avoid exposing your extensions to chlorine and sea salt, which cause excessive hair dryness. If you plan on going swimming, cover your hair with a rich conditioner and tie it back to keep it from coming into contact with water.
